As an experienced HR Leader with functional and leadership expertise, you will lead the Japan HR function and work closelty with the local leadership teams to support to growth of the business. In this role, you will be responsible to lead a high performing team.

The position is based in Osaki, Tokyo office and Shin Yokohama offices.

In this exciting role, you will report to the Regional Head of HR APAC, and responsible for:

- Lead the HR function in Japan and ensuring full HR support for the multiple business units – Taste & Wellbeing Business Units, Fragrance & Beauty Business Units, Operations, Manufacturing, Shared functions located across multiple sites in Japan
- Manage end to end Employee Life cycle for the Japan Team aligned to Global and Local Policy and practices
- Establish HR as a visible and high value business partner to the F&F  business units and other shared services
- As a member of the T&W and F&B management team stay abreast of global and regional business strategies, within the framework of the Global HR strategy, translate these business strategies into HR and People initiatives, and objectives for the Country across sites
- Deliver Talent Management processes through integrated Talent Reviews, Succession & Career Planning, Training & Development
- Manage Talent Acquisition process attracts the best talent aligned to the needs of the business
- Provide a source of expertise in organizational design, people management and communication to ensure that all employees are aligned to the needs and objectives of the business.
- Lead the HR Team and provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments; also provide support, coaching and advice for workforce planning, engagement strategies and succession management
- Pro-actively act on business talent needs, issues and work as part of the wider HR organization to drive talent outcomes and develop the next generation of leaders.
- Ability to manage local payroll management systems and associated compliances
- Partner business and play an integral role in driving change management for transitions for acquisitions, greenfield and brownfield projects , as applicable
- Manage local budget and ensure all applicable labour laws compliances
- Support Company Manager in legal cases and investigations as needed
- Provide employee relations counsel to managers on HR matters. Provide interpretation and guidance on human resources policies and employment law.
- Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of human resource professionals to ensure that the organization’s human resource strategy is implemented effectively and within established budgets and that the organization complies with all relevant regulations, laws and employment standards.

Your professional profile includes :

- More than 15 years’ experience in Human Resources and Organizational Development in a multinational organization in Japan is preferred
- University degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience in managing and leading a high performing team of HR members
- Track record of managing, developing and motivating team members and driving teams to meet organizational objectives
- Fluency in English and Japanese languages is required
- Deep knowledge of functional HR processes
- Problem solving skills
- Proven track record in stakeholder engagement , working in matrix and influencing
- Strong understanding of Japan employment laws / labour practices
