We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our Islamic Capital Markets department under Alliance Islamic Bank division as an Assistant Vice President, Sukuk Capital Markets.
The Role
A successful candidate in this position will be accountable for:
- undertaking Corporate Bonds & Sukuk (CBS) / Asset-backed Securities (ABS) / Syndication activities of CBS including assisting in marketing, securing mandates and execution of assignments.
- achieving individual income and other performance targets set.
- to support the department in achieving the department’s income and other performance targets.
- to achieve other targets as detailed in the appraisal form.
Job Description
CBS/ABS/Syndication activities/Finance Advisory:
- Responsible for achieving individual as well as departmental performance standards and targets.
- Undertaking and completing Sukuk/ABS/Syndication/Finance Advisory activities efficiently and diligently, in compliance with all regulatory and bank requirements.
- Evaluating CBS/ABS/Syndication potentials and prepare financing proposals.
- Preparation and reviewing of information memorandum.
- Undertaking requisite due diligence for each transaction as required by Securities Commission (SC).
- Reviewing legal documentation and attend legal documentation meetings.
- Liaising with relevant regulatory authorities.
- Assist in product research and development as well as market research.
- Perform other related work tasks incidental to CBS operations as and when required.
- To ensure timely and accurate review of SC lodgment, information memorandum, legal documentation, and drawdown conditions, to ensure compliance SC and BNM guidelines.
- To ensure zero reprimands from SC based on specific SC lodgment by CBS including timely submission of information requested by SC pre and post issuance notice.
- Ensuring compliance under AMLA:
- Monitor activities for compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and counter-financing of terrorism requirements / initiatives.
- Ensure reporting for suspicious transactions and escalate it to AMLA Compliance Officer.
Other Activities
- Maintaining of FAST administrator password and facilitating requests by relevant parties.

- Good knowledge of legal documents and procedures

- Good knowledge of the domestic/ world economy
Experience
- At least 5 years’ relevant working experience.
- Experience in structuring and executing CBS and loan syndication transactions.
- Relationship origination & management, compliance and reporting driven experience in corporate banking and/or debt capital market.
- Focused experience in corporate lending/debt capital market environment with strong customer care culture.
- Awareness of developments/trends in capital markets and financial sectors.
