You will contribute to the design and execution of innovative, functional office environments, collaborating closely with senior architects, interior designers, and project managers. The position offers the opportunity to work across commercial spaces and landlord-related projects, taking part in the full design process from concept through construction documentation and FF&E. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior architects, interior designers, and project managers to design and execute workplace and corporate interior projects.
- Develop space plans that optimize functionality, aesthetics, and user experience for office and commercial environments.
- Prepare and present material boards and design presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Produce detailed construction documents using AutoCAD to support project delivery and coordination.
- Select, coordinate, and document FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) for workplace projects.
- Meet with clients regularly to understand project goals, present design solutions, and manage expectations.
- Engage directly with stakeholders to negotiate project scope, design decisions, and implementation details.
- Manage projects from design through construction phases, including coordination with external consultants.
- Contribute to schematic design and design development, including drafting and 3D visualization as needed.
- Support budgeting and scheduling activities to help keep projects on time and aligned with financial parameters.
- Communicate effectively with internal team members, clients, and external consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Interior Design.
- 47 years of professional experience as an Interior Designer.
- Proven experience working on workplace design and corporate interior projects.
- Hands-on experience with space planning for office and commercial environments.
- Experience meeting with clients and presenting design concepts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and construction documentation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external consultants.
- Experience preparing construction documents for interior design projects.
- Ability to develop and deliver design presentations and material boards.
- Experience working on FF&E for workplace and corporate interior projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with interior design across diverse project types, including commercial, retail, and landlord-related work.
- Proficiency in SketchUp or similar tools for 3D visualization and design development.
- Experience with design development and schematic design processes.
- Ability to produce 3D renderings to support client presentations and design approvals.
- Budgeting and scheduling skills to support project management and delivery.
- Strong client communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Interest in working in a smaller firm environment where you can wear multiple hats and take ownership across design and construction phases.
- Desire to work closely with senior architects and designers, gaining mentorship and exposure to various aspects of architecture and interior design.
Work Environment This role is based in an office environment in New York, NY, with on-site work required five days a week. Typical hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with no overtime expected. You will work in a boutique firm setting that allows for close collaboration with senior architects and designers, exposure to a variety of commercial, retail, and landlord projects, and the flexibility to take on multiple responsibilities across design and construction. The environment is professional, design-focused, and offers opportunities for mentorship and portfolio growth.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
