About this role

This Senior Accounting Consultant will support a complex, high-volume accounting environment focused on managing fuel delivery transactions from initial activity through customer billing and final accounting treatment. The role requires someone who can investigate billing and accounting discrepancies, trace transactions across systems, identify root causes, and work cross-functionally to resolve issues. The consultant will also support M&A and customer integrations, including system and data setup, troubleshoot issues that arise as new business is onboarded, and assist with workflow/process improvements and automation. In addition to the operational work, this individual will support month-end close by reviewing outstanding sales activity and preparing accrual journal entries.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage high-volume transactions through the full lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely customer billing.
- Research and resolve complex billing, accounting, and transactional discrepancies.
- Trace transactions across multiple systems to identify root causes and drive issues through resolution.
- Support M&A integrations and customer onboarding, including system/data setup, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Partner with Accounting, Customer Solutions, Master Data, Supply, Inventory, Fuel Payables, and other cross-functional teams.
- Identify opportunities for workflow automation, process improvement, and increased efficiency within accounting processes.
- Support month-end close, including researching outstanding activity and preparing accrual journal entries.
- Navigate RightAngle and other systems to understand how operational activity impacts billing and downstream accounting.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience supporting M&A, acquisitions, system integrations, ERP implementations, or business transitions.
- Experience with complex or high-volume billing and transactional accounting.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
