About this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or faulty vehicle components according to the assigned job card.
- Remove and dismantle mechanical assemblies such as engines, transmissions, clutches, gearboxes, differentials, and suspension systems .
- Inspect mechanical components using appropriate mechanic hand tools and technical manuals as required.
- Reassemble, test, clean, and adjust repaired or replaced components and assemblies.
- Use appropriate diagnostic and testing instruments to ensure repaired or replaced components are functioning correctly.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace engine management and fuel injection system components .
- Safely raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks, vehicle lifts, or hoists to access mechanical components underneath the vehicle.
- Repair, reline, and adjust vehicle braking systems.
- Perform front-end and wheel alignment-related repairs and adjustments.
- Inspect and repair or replace shock absorbers and other suspension components.
- Identify and repair radiator leaks and related cooling system issues.
- Follow manufacturer repair procedures, technical manuals, and workshop standards.
- Ensure all repairs are completed accurately and according to the job card requirements.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow all company QHSE and health & safety procedures .
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman, Supervisor, Workshop Manager, or Service Manager.
Role Purpose
To diagnose, repair, maintain, and restore vehicles to proper operating condition, ensuring high-quality workmanship, vehicle reliability, safety, and compliance with workshop procedures and manufacturer standards.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Service Technician, Automotive Technician, or in a similar position.
Education: High Diploma in Mechanics or a relevant automotive/mechanical qualification.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with engine and transmission repairs .
- Knowledge of clutch, gearbox, and differential systems.
- Experience with suspension and braking systems.
- Knowledge of engine management and fuel injection systems.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and identify defective components.
- Experience dismantling, repairing, reassembling, and testing vehicle components.
- Ability to use mechanic hand tools, vehicle lifts, testing equipment, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of vehicle cooling systems and radiator repairs.
- Strong understanding of workshop safety procedures and safe working practices.
