Fire & Gas System Engineering
 Develop Fire & Gas philosophy and basis of design.
 Perform Fire & Gas detector mapping and coverage studies.
 Prepare detector layouts for:
o Gas Detectors
o Flame Detectors
o Smoke Detectors
o Heat Detectors
o Toxic Gas Detectors
o Manual Call Points
o Sounders and Beacons
 Coordinate detector locations with 3D model team.
 Review hazardous area classification drawings.
 Develop F&G Cause & E􀆯ect Matrix.
 Prepare F&G hook-up and installation details.
 Prepare Instrument Index and I/O List.
 Review vendor documents for F&G systems.
 Coordinate interfaces with:
o DCS
o ESD Systems
o PLC Systems
o HVAC Systems
o Deluge Systems
o Fire Alarm Systems
Fire Fighting System Engineering
Passive Fire Protection
 Review fire-rated walls, doors, penetrations, and dampers.
 Verify compliance with project fire integrity requirements.
 Coordinate passive fire protection requirements with structural and HVAC
teams.
Active Fire Protection
 Design and review:
o Deluge Systems
o Water Spray Systems
o Fire Water Systems
o Hydrant Systems
o Hose Reel Systems
o Foam Systems
o Portable Fire Extinguishers
 Perform hydraulic calculations.
 Prepare firefighting layouts and equipment schedules.
 Support firefighting equipment selection.
Clean Agent and Inergen System Engineering
 Design Clean Agent fire suppression systems.
 Design Inergen suppression systems for:
o Electrical Rooms
o E-Houses
o Control Rooms
o Server Rooms
o Battery Rooms
o Telecom Rooms
 Perform room integrity assessment requirements.
 Calculate agent quantity and cylinder sizing.
 Review nozzle coverage and discharge calculations.
 Verify enclosure protection requirements.
 Prepare system schematics and piping layouts.
 Develop shutdown and release logic.
 Coordinate HVAC shutdown requirements during agent release.
 Review vendor calculations and certification documents.

Project Coordination Responsibilities
 Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and Safety Reviews.
 Coordinate with HVAC, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural and Mechanical
disciplines.
 Support procurement activities.
 Support FAT and SAT activities.
 Attend vendor meetings and design reviews.
 Participate in 30%, 60%, 90% Model Reviews.
 Provide technical support during fabrication, installation and commissioning.
Qualification Requirements
Education
 Bachelor's Degree in:
o Instrumentation Engineering
o Electrical Engineering
o Mechanical Engineering
o Fire Protection Engineering
o Safety Engineering
Experience
 Minimum 8-15 years of relevant experience.
 Minimum 5 years in o􀆯shore, marine, FPSO, oil & gas, or E-House projects.
 Experience in Clean Agent and Inergen suppression systems is mandatory.
 Experience with F&G systems integration and ESD interface design.
