Aerospace Project Manager

Location: Estacada, OR (Onsite) --- You'll run aerospace and government contract projects from the first planning meeting through final closeout. You'll be the customer's main contact and keep cost, schedule, and quality on track. Procurement, subcontracts, submittals, scheduling, and project financials all run through you. You'll also work with engineering, fabrication, and accounting to keep each project running smoothly and making money. --- Responsibilities

- Study the full handoff package from sales so you understand the scope and requirements. That includes drawings, specs, pricing, contract terms, and past correspondence.
- Go through the purchasing and subcontract plan and decide which orders come first and when, based on the schedule and budget.
- Track every technical and non technical submittal so each one is prepared, sent, and approved on time and to the required standard.
- Lead kickoff and planning meetings. Guide the team as it builds the work breakdown structure, schedule, scorecard, and risk and opportunity log.
- Before the field crew goes onsite, make sure they have the tools, materials, and information they need to work safely, efficiently, and to spec.
- Review and approve labor charges and vendor invoices so costs stay accurate and within budget.
- Oversee requests for information so technical and contract questions get clear, accurate, and timely answers.
- Check every change order before it goes to the customer, and send major changes up to leadership for review.
- Review weekly schedule and scorecard updates, find variances and risks, and put corrective action plans in place.
- Give accounting what it needs for billing, and sign off on customer invoices so they match the contract.
- Serve as the customer's main point of contact for the life of the project.
- Keep the internal team aligned and talking so decisions get made quickly.
- Build project forecasts and walk leadership through profit, risk, and opportunity.
- Use your knowledge of fabrication, machining, welding, and engineering drawings to guide decisions and keep the technical work sound.

--- Qualifications Required

- At least 5 years delivering government contracts under tight cost, schedule, and quality requirements
- At least 5 years of project management, taking complex projects from start to closeout
- Solid working knowledge of fabrication, machining, and welding
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specs
- Experience leading cross functional teams and working directly with customer representatives
- Strong skills in scheduling, budgeting, change order management, forecasting, and project analysis
- Ability to analyze data, spot trends, and build corrective action plans
- Clear communicator who builds relationships and sets expectations with internal teams and customers
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience

Preferred

- Aerospace or military project experience
- Training within electrical or a related technical field
- Experience with risk and opportunity management
- Experience presenting forecasts and profit analysis to leadership
- Formal project management training or certification

--- Work Environment This is a full time onsite role in Estacada, OR, in a hands on technical setting. You'll work closely with the fabrication, machining, and welding teams and spend a lot of time in engineering documents, schedules, and scorecards. You'll also talk with customers directly. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Estacada, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $53.85 - $62.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
