About the Role
We are seeking a talented P&C Facultative Underwriter to support the profitable growth and development of our facultative reinsurance portfolio across the Andean Region. In this role, you will contribute to underwriting, client relationship management, portfolio development, and business origination activities across Property and Casualty lines.
Working closely with clients, brokers, cross-functional teams, and regional underwriting experts, you will help deliver innovative solutions while maintaining underwriting discipline and ensuring alignment with company underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, and profitability objectives. The territorial scope includes Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the execution of the Property & Casualty Facultative underwriting strategy for the Andean Region.
- Identify and develop new facultative business opportunities with brokers and clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and cedents, focusing on providing value-added solutions and excellent client service.
- Analyze insurance and reinsurance contract wordings in collaboration with legal and contract wording specialists.
- Assess risks and evaluate pricing adequacy, terms, conditions, structures, and deployed capacity in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
- Perform underwriting activities including risk evaluation, costing, documentation, system entries, and file management.
- Originate, structure, negotiate, and underwrite profitable facultative reinsurance transactions.
- Monitor market trends, competitive developments, and emerging risk factors affecting Property and Casualty business.
- Follow regulatory developments and assess potential impacts on clients, portfolios, and underwriting strategies.
- Collaborate with local and regional experts to strengthen product expertise and support business growth initiatives.
- Contribute to portfolio monitoring activities and support achievement of profitability and growth objectives.
- Promote best underwriting practices, compliance standards, and operational excellence.
- Represent the company in client meetings, industry events, and strategic market engagements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.
About the Team

About You
- Proven experience of 3 + years in Property re/insurance underwriting (experience in Casualty is a plus)
- Experience in facultative underwriting, insurance, reinsurance, or commercial risk underwriting.
- Knowledge of Property products (knowledge of Casualty products is a plus)
- Understanding of insurance and reinsurance contract structures.
- Knowledge of underwriting, pricing methodologies, and risk assessment.
- Understanding of the insurance regulatory environment within the Andean Region is preferred.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Client-oriented mindset with strong relationship management capabilities.
- Fluency in Spanish and English, additional languages appreciated.
