Summary
Receives and dispatches emergency and routine calls for Concord Hospital Security in order to protect life and property and secure the well-being of the patients, visitors and staff. Answers calls in a timely, professional, and appropriate manner.
Assists with administrative functions such as New Hire Badging, Parking Permit Issuance, and Payroll.
Education
High school or equivalent (GED).

There is no experience requirement for this position. However, prior communications or public safety
experience is desirable

Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Must be able to work shift as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Monitors officer safety and progress on all calls for service.
- Receives and handles incoming telephone calls, the Security Window, Simplex Fire System, Hugs System, Lenel, Vocera, Pager, Call Boxes, Radio and Intercom System.
- Provides information for officers as needed; ensures that all calls for service are updated in Security Dispatch, and ensure that all computer files are updated for each call.
- Ensures that members of the Management Team and resource persons (RP) are kept current on all calls of importance.
- Makes outgoing calls to Concord Police and Concord Fire to give or obtain information for officers, administration, and department members; ensures a constant and correct flow of information between all parties involved in incidents.
- Monitors police and fire radio traffic of other agencies; transmits and receives information on two-way radio channels to provide information as requested or assistance as needed.
- Maintains building security by monitoring cameras throughout the organization both on and off campus. Regulates access to several doors throughout the organization through Lenel and the Intercom system. Monitors audio intercom; ensures that no unauthorized access is gained.
- Monitors safety of patients and staff in our behavioral health units to ensure safety. Uses audio and visual devices as necessary.
- Monitors interior and exterior security of our buildings and vehicles in our parking lots and garages.
- Answers calls from alarm companies and law enforcement agencies and dispatches appropriate personnel.
- Ensures that radio and other equipment in the dispatch center remain in working order; notifies responsible parties of any failures.
- Provides officers, clinical staff with information from Dispatch / Omnigo ReportExec on patients and forwards information to officer and clinical staff on cautions on patients as needed.
- Records information in Dispatch for all calls for service, including names, descriptions, locations of incidents, vehicle descriptions, descriptions of missing persons, and times of officer notification, arrival, and clearing of calls.
- Retrieves information from Dispatch / Omnigo ReportExec, including prior calls for service, prior contacts or Staff Safety Advisories.
- Utilizes parking database to identify employee vehicles, registration status and prior violations.
- Uses Omnigo/ReportExec to manage lost and found requests, sign out temporary badges and call room keys.
- Issues IDs and Access Control Badges
- Enters Payroll
- Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
The territory contained within the Concord Hospital campus as well as offsite locations.
Correct use of radio and telephone communications systems.
Skill in:
Operating office equipment and typing.
Dealing effectively with a variety of people, including during an extreme emergency.

- Establish effective professional working relationships with Officers, Managers, hospital staff, patients and visitors, ambulance company representatives, fire service and EMS personnel, and members of other public safety agencies.
- Hear, understand, and orally communicate detailed information accurately and completely.
- Speak clearly and distinctly.
- Remain calm in stressful situation and deal courteously, professionally, with callers in order to obtain critical information.
- Perform duties while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping.
- Occasionally lift light objects.
- See and read a computer screen and a variety of written materials, all of which require close vision
- abilities.
- Employees must be able to reach and extend hands in any direction as well as handle, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands.
