About this role
Supervise a crew of production labor personnel in the production of concrete products. Perform tasks involving physical labor, including training and instruction on the proper way to tie steel, prepare forms, handle concrete, finish concrete and maintain tools in an effective and safe manner. May assist other supervision as needed.
- Supervise a crew of up to 10 employees and prioritize work.
- Read and follow blue prints, material lists and guidelines and apply necessary timelines
- Lift requirement, 50 pounds
- Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
- Instruct employees on the proper use of safety equipment and clothing
- Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframes
- Contribute to company morale and group commitment to goals
- Comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures and safety requirements
- Crewmember discipline, praise and documentation as needed
- Work fulltime, Monday through Friday with frequent Saturday hours
- Excellent attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Supervise a group of employees and prioritize work
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in concrete production work.
- Ability to read and follow blue prints, material lists and guidelines
- Ability to schedule workflow and meet deadlines
- Ability to instruct and demonstrate proper use of equipment, tools safety, equipment
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects
- Ability to bend at waist or in a kneeling position for extended periods of time
- Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including heat and cold
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces and climb steps
- Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
- Excellent stamina is required.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
- Excellent attendance
- Ability to comply with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements
- Ability to explain and enforce company policies, procedures and safety requirements
Education, Training and Experience
- Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
- Willingness and ability to perform physical labor
- Bilingual a plus
Work Context
- Regularly works near moving objects and in climate conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and concrete
- Noise level is generally loud. Hearing protection is required
- Safety/Steel toe boots, hardhat and safety glasses required
