JOB SUMMARY:
Parking Attendants play a critical role in creating a positive first impression for guests and ensuring the smooth operation of daily resort parking logistics. This position is highly visible and guest-facing, requiring individuals who are self-motivated, punctual, well-organized, and equipped with strong people and problem-solving skills.
Parking Attendants are responsible for setting up and removing parking lot cones, maximizing parking capacity, maintaining clear loading and unloading zones, and assisting with a wide range of guest needs—from traffic direction to helping with gear or resolving vehicle issues. Flexibility and teamwork are essential, as this role may assist with alternative parking plans during peak periods or fill in for other operational roles as needed.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years of age to perform this role.
- Snow Management: Shovel snow and operate snow blowers and sanders as conditions require.
- Driving and Licensing: May be required to have a valid drivers license and obtain a Class C CDL endorsement; must be insurable under company policy to operate vehicles.
- Parking Lot Setup: Set up cones and sand parking areas daily based on conditions.
- Traffic Flow Management: Safely maximize parking lot capacity and direct vehicles to designated areas.
- Guest Assistance: Help guests with minor vehicle issues, loading/unloading gear, and navigating the parking area.
- Loading Zone Safety: Maintain safe and accessible loading/unloading zones at all times.
- Guest Interaction: Greet and host guests as they arrive, offering assistance and directions.
- Bus Coordination: Assist with the loading and unloading of LINK buses, school buses, and charter buses.
- Work Hours: Flexible scheduling from 10 to 40+ hours per week depending on weather and snow conditions.
- Cold Weather Gear: Must wear appropriate clothing for cold weather; a uniform jacket is provided by Mission Ridge.

- Public Interaction: Must enjoy working with the public and have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and Professional Demeanor: A positive attitude and clear communication are required when working with guests and staff.
- Teamwork and Flexibility: Willingness to take direction and assist with other duties as needed during peak periods.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and assist guests with unexpected issues or requests.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
No formal education is required for this role. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and able to perform physical outdoor tasks in various weather conditions. A valid drivers license may be required depending on assigned responsibilities, and candidates must be eligible to be insured if operating company vehicles. Previous experience in customer service, traffic control, or similar outdoor operational roles is beneficial but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires extended periods of standing, walking, shoveling snow, and lifting or moving equipment in cold and variable weather. Physical stamina, situational awareness, and the ability to communicate clearly with both guests and team members are essential to this role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Parking Attendant role is entirely outdoors and requires working in all weather conditions, including snow, wind, rain, hail, fog, and sunshine. Weekend and holiday availability is required during the ski season. Mission Ridge is a drug- and alcohol-free workplace and maintains a non-smoking facility. Due to the seasonal nature of the ski industry, all employees may be subject to reduced hours or temporary layoffs based on weather and business demand.
