We're seeking a skilled Calibration Technician III to join a leading medical device manufacturing team in San Diego. In this role, you'll work with a wide range of sophisticated testing, measurement, and manufacturing equipment that plays a critical role in producing high-quality products that impact patient lives. What You'll Do
As a key member of the calibration team, you will:
- Perform calibration, adjustment, and verification of electronic, mechanical, dimensional, temperature, humidity, and pressure-based equipment
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and measurement systems to identify and resolve performance issues
- Execute preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and uptime
- Maintain accurate calibration records and equipment documentation
- Review vendor calibration certificates and service reports for compliance and accuracy
- Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Facilities, and R&D teams
- Utilize CMMS systems such as IBM Maximo to manage calibration schedules and equipment histories
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 2+ years of calibration or instrumentation experience
- Experience calibrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic equipment
- Knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments such as medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, aerospace, or similar industries
- Experience maintaining technical documentation and calibration records
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech manufacturing
- Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, or other regulated quality systems
- Experience with IBM Maximo or similar CMMS platforms
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification
- Experience supporting CAPA, investigations, or equipment reliability initiatives

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
