Job Title: Project Engineer Job Description
The Project Engineer serves as an integral member of the project management team, working closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Project Administrator to support the management, coordination, and documentation of construction projects. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who wants to develop into an Assistant Superintendent or Assistant Project Manager and is eager to grow quickly within a dynamic construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Project Administrator in the day-to-day management and coordination of construction projects.
- Develop a thorough understanding of project scope, approach, and details, matching the depth of knowledge of the Project Superintendent.
- Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and other project engineering and coordination tasks.
- Contribute to construction project management and construction management activities to ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope.
- Support estimation activities by providing project data, documentation, and coordination as needed.
- Apply a basic understanding of project scheduling concepts, including critical path activities, to help monitor project progress.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure clear communication and effective coordination among office and field staff.
- Demonstrate developing leadership by taking ownership of assigned tasks and supporting the growth and success of the project team.
- Use analytical and detail-oriented approaches to review project information, identify issues, and support timely decision-making.
- Actively participate in efforts to grow the office and contribute to the long-term success of the organization in the local market.

- Preferred Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent industry-specific experience.
- Strong desire for career advancement and the motivation to move into higher-level roles quickly.
- Ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders and team members.

- Experience or coursework in project management, construction management, or project engineering.
- Experience with RFIs, change orders, and project coordination in a construction environment.

Work Environment
The Project Engineer works as part of a collaborative project management team in a professional construction environment. The role involves frequent interaction with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Administrators, as well as coordination with field personnel and office staff. You will use tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Vista software to manage documentation, schedules, and project information. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
