Workday’s Technology Sourcing team is a group of Sourcing professionals who are passionate about technology and enabling our internal customers through Workday’s incredible growth journey. We build strong relationships with our suppliers who provide the critical technology infrastructure that powers our products and our internal operations.

About the Role
This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).
Workday is seeking a Senior Sourcing Manager on the Technology Sourcing Team in the Financial Services and Spend Management Organization. This person will assist with the execution of Technology strategies, with a focus on Software engagements and related projects.
Generally, the Senior Sourcing Manager will understand business/company requirements and apply Strategic Sourcing practices to support the business. Responsibilities include performing spend and market analysis, conducting Requests for Proposals, negotiating contracts, and fostering business and supplier relationships. The Senior Sourcing Manager will also identify strategic improvement opportunities (e.g. introducing new technologies, cost optimization, contract consolidation) and be a key driver in process-improvement initiatives. Finally, the Senior Sourcing Manager should also be able to assist with auxiliary Sourcing requests in related technology categories such as hardware, and data center, and public cloud.
The Sourcing Manager should have Sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain experience, and familiarity/experience with Technology procurement is required.
About You
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of direct experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Sourcing, including demonstrated experience in Technology/IT procurement (e.g., Software/SaaS, hardware, data center, or public cloud categories) — OR 8+ years of combined experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Business, and/or Finance, together with a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
Other Qualifications
- Demonstrated Sourcing experience leading RFx’s, conducting supplier management activities, and managing a Sourcing category with a focus on Software/SaaS
- Strong knowledge of cloud economics, AI token economics, and consumption-based pricing structures·
- Executing advanced standard Sourcing and Category Management concepts, practices, and procedures·
- Demonstration of critical thinking, by translating, analyzing and creating solutions from advanced financial modeling and data analysis.·
- Advanced understanding of contracts and contract management·
- Advanced at developing and executing negotiation strategies

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $123,800 USD - $185,600 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $117,600 USD - $208,800 USD
