What You’ll Do
As a Sourcing Manager, you will lead and manage the Americas Procurement function with dedicated ownership of the chemical category, ensuring a high-performing team that delivers cost effective solutions while balancing internal requirements with supply market capability and risk. You will drive driving end-to-end category support across all areas of chemical management, specializing in emulsifiers, waste management and industrial cleaning, emulsions, fuel phases, and mineral oil micro balloons. Other duties include:
- Effectively support procurement functions for operational and manufacturing sites across North America by leading the development and implementation of comprehensive sourcing strategies, procurement processes, negotiations, and the management of supply and service contracts for ongoing operational expenses
- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Develop comprehensive category strategies and execute strategic sourcing events—including RFXs, auctions, and reverse auctions—specifically for the direct chemical category (encompassing emulsifiers, emulsions, fuel phases, mineral oil micro balloons, cleaning chemicals, and waste management materials) to secure robust supply agreements.
- Negotiation & Commercial Skills: Formulate and execute advanced negotiation strategies that leverage organizational positioning to secure optimal commercial outcomes, balancing cost, quality, and market conditions for direct chemical procurement.
- Execute agreements strictly in accordance with the delegation of authority, ensuring all commitments support manufacturing and operational requirements without service or project-related scope
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain an active network with key internal stakeholders across operations, engineering, and leadership to deeply understand manufacturing demands and translate them into agile chemical sourcing strategies
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and nurture robust relationships with key chemical suppliers, fostering strategic partnerships that enhance security of supply, sustainability, and continuous improvement across North American sites.
- Risk & Contract Management: Proactively identify supply chain risks across the chemical network, developing and implementing preventive and mitigating controls to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations and strict regulatory compliance
- Financial & Data Analytics: Perform rigorous spend analyses and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments tailored to the chemical portfolio. Build frameworks for Working Capital (TWC) improvements—focusing on payment terms and inventory optimization—while applying sound accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Digital Procurement Systems: Manage all procurement systems diligently and accurately, utilizing platforms such as SAP, Procurement Contract Databases, SHAERS, and related S2P tools to streamline direct sourcing workflows.
