Overview
We are hiring Shift Supervisors to lead teams of Vehicle Operators supporting a rapidly growing autonomous ride-hailing program in Houston, TX.
In this role, you will be a hands-on, player-coach leader , working alongside your team to ensure daily vehicle operations, software and hardware testing, and operational missions are completed safely and according to established standards.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Autonomous Vehicle Operator who is ready to step into a leadership position and has a strong background in safety, team development, operational efficiency, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of Vehicle Operators (VOs) during daily operations
- Ensure team members understand and execute short- and long-term operational goals
- Foster a safety-first, inclusive, and open communication culture
- Support Vehicle Operators and ensure adherence to operational procedures and safety standards
- Work directly alongside the team as a player-coach , leading by example
- Ensure software and hardware testing is completed accurately and to required standards
- Motivate, mentor, coach, and guide team members to meet performance expectations
- Provide regular written and verbal performance feedback
- Complete administrative tasks related to scheduling, team coordination, and shift validation
- Develop strong knowledge of proprietary vehicle operations software and systems
- Identify operational challenges and help implement solutions that improve efficiency
- Serve as a point of contact for contractors and ensure assigned responsibilities are clearly understood
- Support operational missions both inside and outside of vehicles
- Collaborate with fleet operations leadership and cross-functional teams
- Perform additional operational and leadership duties as assigned

6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
- Tuesday – Saturday
- Sunday – Thursday
- Friday – Tuesday
PM Shift Options
3:45 PM – 12:15 AM
- Tuesday – Saturday
- Sunday – Thursday
- Friday – Tuesday
Candidates must be comfortable working the assigned schedule consistently, including weekends when required.
Requirements
- Minimum 12+ months of Autonomous Vehicle Operator experience
- Must have an active AVT permit
- Excellent driving history
- Experience working in a highly collaborative environment
- Demonstrated ability to promote a strong teamwork mentality
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to improve operational efficiency
- Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and resourcefulness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly communicate technical and operational issues to team members and management
- Comfortable providing coaching, direction, and performance feedback
- Ability to work hands-on alongside Vehicle Operators
- Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence
- Must be able to complete the required training and travel commitment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of autonomous vehicle industry or operations experience
- Previous experience as an Instructor, Lead, Supervisor, or Manager within an operations team
- Experience leading or managing highly cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of autonomous vehicle operations, testing, and safety procedures
Training & Travel Requirements
Selected Shift Supervisors will be required to complete approximately one month of travel for training .

- Austin, TX
- Houston, TX
- Las Vegas, NV
Candidates should be prepared and available to meet the required training travel commitment.
