About this role

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for purchasing a wide range of goods and services that support company operations while ensuring compliance with Apave America's purchasing policies, procedures, and standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Purchase materials, equipment, supplies, and services required to support operational needs.

- Create and maintain accurate and detailed purchase orders.

- Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations and pricing.

- Coordinate with suppliers regarding deliveries, pricing, and order status.

- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving records.

- Maintain purchasing files and documentation in accordance with company policies.

- Perform administrative duties associated with procurement activities.

- Assist with resolving discrepancies related to orders, invoices, and deliveries.

- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely procurement of required goods and services.

- Adhere to all company purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.

Required Skills and Experience

- Degree or certificate in Supply Chain Management is considered an asset.

- Previous purchasing experience is preferred.

- Ability to write detailed purchase orders accurately and efficiently.

- Experience matching invoices and performing administrative tasks.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

- Excellent work ethic and reliability.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Professional demeanor and customer-focused attitude.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check required.

Education and Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Associate degree in a related field preferred.

- Three (3) years of office experience preferred.

- At least one (1) year of purchasing experience strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
