We are searching for the best talent for Senior Scientist, Bioconjugates, Downstream Processing.
Purpose: The Senior Scientist, Bioconjugates, Downstream Processing leads and performs process development activities for antibodies and bioconjugates such as targeted lipid-nano particles (tLNP), antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), antibody-oligo conjugate (AOC), and antibody-peptide conjugate (APC) within the API-Large Molecule group in Malvern, PA.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead and participate in experimental design, execute planned experiments, and optimize process steps for the target process scale, including laboratory- and occasional pilot-scale conjugation reactions, chromatography, and TFF filtration.
- Lead the design and execution of development studies to identify appropriate conditions and establish ranges for critical process parameters across chromatography, filtration, and conjugation reaction process steps.
- Record and analyze experimental data, verify data integrity and accuracy, report and summarize findings for the project team, draft technical documents, and perform technology transfers to collaboration partners.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute independently to meet project timelines and objectives.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- PhD (preferably in Chemical Engineering or Biological Sciences or Biochemistry or other equivalent major) with at least 3 years of relevant post-doctoral experience OR MS (Preferably in Chemical Engineering or Biological Sciences or Biochemistry or other equivalent major) and with at least 12 years of relevant experience OR a BS (preferably in Chemical Engineering or Biological Sciences or Biochemistry or other equivalent major) and with at least 15 years of relevant experience is required.
- Knowledge and hands-on laboratory experience in downstream processing, purification of antibodies/recombinant protein therapeutics, and production of bioconjugates (such as tLNP, ADC or other equivalent conjugates), in particular chromatography, filtration and conjugation, are required.
- Exposure to analytical method development for in-process methods is preferred.
- The candidate must be highly organized and capable of managing/pursuing multiple projects independently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Experience maintaining written records of work in the form of (electronic) notebooks, technical reports and protocols is required.
- Data reporting, ability to present findings to management, and experience with team-based collaborations is a must.
- Occasional weekend work may be required.
