MIDWAY STAFF JOB SUMMARY:
Midway Staff are responsible for the sale and service of food and beverage products at the Midway location, providing lunch to Mission Ridge guests while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This position requires the ability to deliver quality food, efficient service, and maintain cleanliness and stock levels across both the indoor and outdoor areas of the restaurant.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and demonstrates a proactive approach to service and cleanliness. Responsibilities include preparing food, operating kitchen equipment, managing cash transactions, and ensuring the dining area remains clean and well-stocked. A positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work well within a team are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS :
- Cash Handling & Register Operation: Operate the cash register during shifts, manage a personal bank, and process guest transactions accurately.
- Sales Reconciliation: Reconcile and balance receipts against system sales reports and complete a daily cash sales report.
- Guest Assistance: Assist guests with menu selections and provide a welcoming, efficient dining experience.
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare menu items including sandwiches and specialty foods using equipment such as convection ovens, steam tables, and gas BBQs.
- Cleanliness & Bussing: Maintain a clean and organized dining area; assist with bussing tables and perform end-of-shift cleanup duties.
- Stocking & Product Maintenance: Keep the food court, condiment stations, and deck areas clean and stocked throughout service hours.
SKILLS REQUIRED :
- Beverage Knowledge : Understanding of regional beer and wine selections for responsible service.
- Permits & Certification : Must possess a valid Washington State Health District Food Server Permit and Class 12 or 13 Server Permit.
- Cash Handling : Demonstrated ability to manage money accurately, reconcile sales, and handle high-volume transactions.
- Age Requirement : Must be at least 21 years of age to sell alcohol and operate a cash register at the Midway location
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
This position requires constant standing and walking throughout the shift, with frequent lifting, bending, and movement in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Staff must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, restock supplies, and operate kitchen equipment safely. Clear verbal communication is necessary for guest interaction and team coordination. The environment can be busy, loud, and physically demanding during peak hours.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Midway is a semi-outdoor food and beverage location situated between Chair Lift #1 and Chair Lift #2 on the mountain. Employees reach the location by riding up Chair Lift #1 and return either by walking down the slope or riding in a snowcat. The environment includes regular exposure to snow, wind, cold temperatures, and direct contact with snowcats and other mountain operations equipment. This position requires the ability to work comfortably in a variable weather environment while maintaining a professional, guest-friendly demeanor.

-The position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: REGULARLY (67-100%)
-Transporting food and beverage to and from Midway requires lifting of items up to 100 lb. in and on a snowcat trailer. The trailer needs to be loaded and unloaded twice a day. Snow removal of the roof and deck.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: REGULARLY (67-100%)
-Must be able to write, and use phone system
