We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Administrator to join a Cloud Architecture and Administration team supporting secure, innovative cloud infrastructure for one of the nation's critical institutions.

Position Overview

The Senior Cloud Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing cloud infrastructure within an AWS GovCloud environment.

This position will support modern cloud-native architectures, containerized workloads, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, and emerging AI/ML capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, engineers, developers, cybersecurity professionals, and project teams in an Agile environment.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on AWS experience and understands the security and compliance requirements associated with federal government and highly regulated environments .

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, configure, and maintain infrastructure within AWS GovCloud .
- Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Amazon EKS and Kubernetes .
- Support cloud-native platforms and emerging AI/ML infrastructure and capabilities .
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Build, maintain, and enhance GitLab CI/CD pipelines .
- Automate routine operational and infrastructure management tasks.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, availability, security, and reliability .
- Support implementation of secure cloud architectures in accordance with federal security requirements.
- Ensure infrastructure and operational processes support NIST 800-53 and FISMA compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cloud architects, developers, cybersecurity teams, DevOps engineers, and other technical stakeholders.
- Participate in an Agile development environment and use Jira for project planning, tracking, and collaboration.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, networking, container, and deployment issues.
- Contribute to cloud architecture decisions, technical standards, and long-term cloud strategy.
- Document infrastructure, configurations, procedures, and operational processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Senior-level experience administering and supporting AWS cloud environments .
- Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
- Experience with AWS GovCloud or other highly secure/regulatory cloud environments.
- Experience with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes .
- Experience developing or maintaining Terraform Infrastructure as Code .
- Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines .
- Knowledge of cloud security and federal compliance requirements.
- Understanding of NIST 800-53 security controls and FISMA requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Experience working in an Agile environment .

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS certification such as: AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer

- Experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure and cloud services .
- Experience with cloud-native application architectures.
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and automated infrastructure deployment.
- Experience working in federal government or financial services environments .
- Experience with Jira and Agile project management methodologies.
- Experience implementing security controls within AWS environments.
