He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Reporting to the Head of Operations Performance, the Asset Protection Manager is responsible for providing regional support to the Watercare Transmission and Network teams. This role manages a team of passionate Engineers who assess and manage risks ensuring the protection of Watercare assets.

In this role you will also:

- Liaise and coordinate with Developers, contractors and project teams
Promote a culture of quality customer service in the organisation

- Control output of business unit to ensure Watercare outcomes are achieved within budget

- Initiate and develop partnerships with customers to define and evaluate service performance outcomes

- Engage and motivate the team, creating opportunities for recognising and celebrating high performance at the individual and team level

You'll be a confident, enthusiastic problem-solver with a 'can-do' attitude that loves a challenge and works well under pressure.

You will also demonstrate:

- Experience is in contract and customer relationship management with a strong customer focus

- The ability to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team (office and field based)

- Excellent communication and reporting skills

- Experience in working cross-functionally and effectively collaborate across teams

- A relevant tertiary level qualification in Engineering, preferably in Structural or Civil disciplines

- Preferable but not necessary to have previous experience in the Water or Wastewater industry
