About this role

Arcosa Telecom is currently looking to hire a Cobot Weld Operator for the Afternoon Shift, for the plant operation located in Muskogee, OK. The Cobot Weld Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and monitoring collaborative welding robots (cobots) to produce high-quality welded components in a safe and efficient manner. This position works closely with welding, fabrication, and quality teams to ensure production requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations are met. The operator will load and unload parts, perform basic programming adjustments, inspect finished welds, and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.

What You'll Do:

- Operate collaborative welding robots (cobots) and related welding equipment.

- Load, position, and secure parts in fixtures according to work instructions.

- Start, monitor, and oversee automated welding cycles.

- Inspect welded parts for quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with specifications.

- Perform visual weld inspections and identify defects requiring rework.

- Make minor adjustments to welding parameters, fixtures, and robot programs as directed.

- Complete production and quality documentation accurately and timely.

- Perform routine preventative maintenance and daily equipment checks.

- Troubleshoot minor equipment and process issues and escalate major concerns to maintenance or engineering.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.

- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and quality.

- Cross-train and assist in other welding and fabrication operations as needed.

- Must be willing and able to work overtime, including weekends and short-notice scheduling, to support production demands and business needs.

- Demonstrates a positive attitude and is highly coachable, with the ability to accept feedback, learn new processes, and continuously develop technical skills.

- Possesses a strong understanding of welding processes, including MIG welding principles, weld parameters, and welding equipment operation.

- Ability to identify acceptable and nonconforming welds through visual inspection and apply established quality standards.

- Knowledge of weld defects, weld penetration, bead appearance, and other indicators of weld quality.

- Capable of reading and interpreting weld symbols, blueprints, and fabrication drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.

- Committed to producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

- Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in a manufacturing environment.

- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, and welding PPE.

- Ability to work around welding fumes, heat, noise, and moving equipment.

Working Conditions

- Manufacturing production environment.

- Exposure to welding operations, metal fabrication equipment, and industrial machinery.

- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
