We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director, Control Manager
In this role, you will:
- The Group CIO Chief Control Office (GCIO CCO) plays a key role in ensuring the bank operates within its risk tolerances and appetite by embedding effective risk and control management across GCIO. This role sits within the GCIO CCO area supporting GCIO COO and is responsible for providing governance, oversight, and execution of risk and control management processes across the GCIO organisation, evolving a culture of continuous and consistent risk management.
- The Senior Control Manager, GCIO COO will drive governance responses, residual risk management, and cross-functional risk initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal frameworks.
- Role responsibilities are to support the Global Head of Controls, GCIO COO. This includes (but is not limited to): Partnering with the GCIO COO function to oversee the risk and control portfolio related to the services GCIO COO provides to the Group i.e., risk assessments, control environment, issues management, audits.
- Support efforts to continuously improve the control environment, monitoring of risk, including behaviours
- Help identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment
- Actively raise and challenge poor, inefficient or excessive controls, related tasks and behaviours
- Providing specialist risk and control knowledge and insights, leading efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviours
- Support our stakeholders with updates on any relevant changes to policy or projects related to operational risk that have an impact on their area of responsibility.
- Advocate desired behaviours required to mature the understanding and management of technology risk controls across the CCO team and beyond.
Governance and Committee Memberships
- Support the GCIO COO RCMM and other related committees and forums.

- Driving improvements to information metrics and processes to strengthen risk management and internal control.
- Customers/Stakeholders: Stakeholder management is multi-faceted across geographies, Businesses and Functions.
- Presenting and reporting complex risk and control information in ways that are meaningful for different stakeholders.
- Applying professional understanding, expertise and judgement to oversee the health of the end-to-end control environment.
- Monitoring and analysing the performance of the control environment to drive more effective design and operation of controls.
- Leveraging opportunities to implement more automated, effective and cost-efficient controls and measures of effectiveness.
- Providing advice, support and challenge to stakeholders to help them understand and manage controls and risks effectively.
- Leadership & Teamwork: Lead by example, demonstrating core behaviours and values including teamwork, focus, drive and determination.

Key Skills, Attributes and Experience
- Flexible and adaptable being able to manage and prioritise competing demands in a demanding environment.
- Solid English language communication skills to be able influence and challenge stakeholders, “Bilingual Proficiency” level desirable, “Professional Proficiency/Fluent” level minimum.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- High level of attention to detail, and ability to lead activities.
- Expertise in non-financial risk management, governance, and frameworks.
- Strong understanding at least one of the following risk domains: change execution, people, financial reporting or compliance.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, and cross-functional risk committees.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior executives across a complex organisation.
- Ability to interpret and challenge risk assessments, issue management, and control effectiveness.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute under pressure, responding to urgent risk matters effectively.
- A desire to find ways to challenge end to end processes and continually improve service delivered.
- Identifying, defining and solving problems that impact on your work or the wider business.
- Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, COBIT, or ITIL are desirable.
