About this role
This position performs set up and service activities within banquet/catering departments with primary responsibility for providing professional, prompt, and consistent food and beverage service; completing set up and break down of trays, tables, counters, buffets, dining tables; checking regularly for guests’ needs; and answering any questions or concerns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets guests in a timely manner, monitors alcohol consumption, serves food and beverages according to company service standards.
- Thoroughly knowledgeable on the menu and beverages.
- Performs all duties on the banquet server/catering attendant checklist.
- Ensures proper set up and break down of break service trays, tables, counters, buffets, and dining tables.
- Collects and transports food items such as dressings, butters, and desserts, as well as supplies to serving stations and event rooms.
- Completes event clean up, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, moving tables, rearranging chairs, removing soiled linen, and returning unused wine and liquor to the supervisor/manager.
- Complies with company, local, state, and national regulations pertaining to food quality, cleanliness and sanitation standards, alcohol service, and safety.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 1 to 3 months related experience in a high-volume, high energy, food and beverage environment.
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.
- The employee frequently is required to operate and use server station tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.
- The employee must move up to 30 pounds frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
