JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Oversees and maintains all facets of the golf operation. Provides professional support, direction, management, training and leadership to golf staff associates. Promotes and nurtures customer relations and enhance the quality of the golf experience. Responsible for the day-to-day golf operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

- Recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of all staff including assistant and teaching professionals, outside assistants, starters and player assistants

- Implementation of all Agua Caliente policies and procedures

- Schedule monthly team meeting to align with current golf operations

- Oversee all golf operations

- Oversee the overall appearance of the property including building and inside facilities

- Oversee merchandise manager

- Responsible for overseeing and scheduling golf shop staff, outside service, starters and player assistants

- Responsible for giving evaluations and performance reviews of all team members

- Performs payroll tasks as scheduled and makes adjustments prior to submitting to payroll. Monitors hours to maximize productivity and minimize overtime.

- Manage tee sheet daily to ensure golf shop staff is booking tee times and to monitor play

- Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage

- Attend weekly manager meetings to share and present information about our business

- Coordinates and oversees all golf outings and tournaments

- Develop and oversee the golf instruction and golf development programs

- Oversee the operation of a well-managed practice facility

- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance

- Maintain close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and other department heads

- Assist in the marketing and promotion of loyalty programs and overall play

- Assist in the preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis

- Assist buyer with golf shop needs and inventory levels

- Responsible for two-way radios and rental clubs

- Work with administration and accounting department to make sure all discrepancies are accounted for and explained

- Oversee the administration of the USGA/SCGA handicap program

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

- Active PGA or LPGA Class "A" Membership in good standing.

- Prior golf management and teaching experience; teaching certification a plus.

- Must have strong people and customer service skills, basic overall knowledge of golf, management, computer skills, and office equipment.

- Experience with POS and tee time management

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand for 10-hour shifts, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ miles, climbing, stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Also may be subjected to a smoke filled environment. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Outdoor exposure required. Must be able to work outdoors in severe weather conditions. During summer season, exposure of extreme heat due to outside temperatures.

Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, push/pull up to 50 lbs. and must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
