About this role

Hours per week: 37

Interview date: Week commencing 02 November 2026

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Community Involvement Co-Ordinator to join Wiltshire's Youth Justice Service (YJS). This rewarding role sits within the Young People Service and plays a vital part in supporting children, families and victims, helping to reduce offending and improve outcomes through a child-first approach.

As the lead for our Community Involvement Team, you will recruit, train and support a diverse network of volunteers to make a real difference to young lives. From Appropriate Adults and Referral Order Panel Members to Restorative Justice Volunteers and Mentors, you will ensure volunteers are equipped, supervised and empowered to deliver high-quality support. You will also coordinate mentoring programmes, oversee volunteer services, organise training and development opportunities, and work closely with partner agencies to promote restorative practice and positive community engagement.

We are seeking someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, experience of coordinating people, projects or volunteers, and a passion for supporting vulnerable children. You'll be confident building relationships, managing competing priorities and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. Knowledge of youth justice, restorative practice, safeguarding or community engagement would be advantageous.

This is an opportunity to shape and develop volunteering within a forward-thinking service that is committed to helping children thrive, stay safe and achieve their potential. If you are passionate about empowering volunteers, strengthening communities and making a lasting difference to children’s lives, we would love to hear from you.
