Position Summary
The Nursing Assistant performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Functions within the framework of the NAI listing granted by the NC Department of Health and Human Services. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services.  In addition, the Nursing Assistant may be utilized in the Observer Role responsible for monitoring one or more assigned patients on a designated unit for a specified time period.
Minimum Requirements
Current American Heart Association HeartSaver or higher certification is required.

De-escalation training (Non-violent crisis intervention or other de-escalation program adopted by ECU Health). If not current at the time of hire must complete within 90 days of employment and maintain without lapse during employment. This is not required for Ambulatory clinical positions.

The facility features 96 inpatient rooms, 60 infusion areas with a view of outdoor healing gardens, 58 clinics centered on patient care, an image renewal center, and a resource center offering additional services like psychotherapy, support groups and complementary therapies.
