Senior Accountant Consultant
Location: Columbia, MD | Hybrid
Duration: Approximately 4 months
Pay: $45–$55/hour
Cherry Bekaert is supporting a client in identifying an experienced Senior Accountant Consultant to provide interim accounting support during a critical year-end period. This is a hands-on role ideal for a strong accounting professional who enjoys being in the details and can quickly integrate into an established team.
The position is hybrid in Columbia, MD, with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote .
Responsibilities
- Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Assist with financial reporting and account review
- Support construction and project-based accounting activities, including percentage-of-completion accounting
- Partner closely with the Assistant Controller and accounting team
- Assist with ad hoc accounting and operational needs as required
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager-level experience
- Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and financial statement preparation experience
- Experience with construction, project-based, or percentage-of-completion accounting preferred
- Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains experience strongly preferred
- DataRails or similar reporting experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and quickly contribute in a fast-paced accounting environment
