About this role

Overview

The Drywall Carpenter is responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall systems and ceiling components on commercial construction projects. This role works closely with project teams to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

What You'll Do

- Measure, cut, and install drywall panels to wood and metal framing.

- Layout and cut openings for doors, windows, electrical fixtures, lighting, and mechanical systems.

- Apply drywall tape, joint compound, and finishing materials to create smooth, finished surfaces.

- Sand, finish, and repair drywall as needed.

- Install ceiling tile and related components.

- Read and interpret building plans and project specifications.

- Estimate and prepare materials needed for assigned tasks.

- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required for drywall installation.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

- Follow company safety policies, jobsite procedures, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Previous drywall, carpentry, or commercial construction experience preferred; on-the-job training available for qualified candidates.

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and drywall installation equipment.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Reliable transportation to project sites.

- Ability to meet physical job requirements, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders and scaffolding, lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 85 pounds, accessing elevated work areas, and working in varying jobsite and weather conditions.

- Must successfully complete any required pre-employment screening.
