Position Description

The Regional Facilities Manager (USA) reporting to the Global Head of Real Estate & Facilities Management will play a critical role in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and statutory compliance of Hanley Energys facilities across our US portfolio. Based primarily in Ashburn, Virginia, the role provides direct oversight of local FM operations while supporting satellite sites in Boardman, Oregon and Dublin, Ohio through periodic travel and structured governance reviews.

This role ensures buildings, technical infrastructure, and critical support systems operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with US regulatory frameworks OSHA, NFPA, IBC and Hanley Energys global FM governance model. Responsibilities include vendor and contract management, statutory maintenance compliance, budget stewardship, space planning, and operational leadership. The Regional Facilities Manager will be a key contributor to the wider Global Real Estate & FM function, supporting strategic growth and maintaining assurance across our expanding US footprint.

Position Responsibilities

- Assist in reviewing and managing contracts for essential facility services including security, fire protection systems (NFPA aligned), emergency lighting, HVAC, general building and grounds maintenance, and technical services.

- Help to prepare tender documentation and support commercial evaluations for new and renewed service contracts.

- Ensure robust energy and waste management procedures in line with local and federal environmental requirements.

- Maintain accurate, audit ready maintenance records across all US locations utilising the existing CMMS.

- Support ISO audit queries and provide compliance reporting as required.

- Manage regional FM budgets, ensuring cost effectiveness and financial accountability across operations.

- Provide regular financial and operational reporting to Global Head.

- Ensure all facilities meet US federal, state, and local regulatory obligations (OSHA, IBC, NFPA, ADA) and align with Hanley Energys internal governance and safety standards.

- Advise the business on energy efficiency improvements and operational cost optimization opportunities.

- Support and oversee building projects, refurbishments, and minor works within assigned US sites.

- Assist in leading space planning efforts to ensure effective utilization of facilities supporting business growth.

- Draft clear reports and recommendations for management decision making.

- Contribute to long term facilities planning in alignment with regional and global strategic objectives.

- Attend weekly FM meetings with other regional leads online and upon occasion face to face.

Position Requirements

- Qualification in Facilities Management or a related discipline (preferred).

- Proven track record managing multiple facilities preferably in a technical, manufacturing, or mission critical environment.

- Strong understanding of US building codes and FM regulatory frameworks (OSHA, IBC, NFPA, ADA).

- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple states.

- Demonstrated leadership capability with strong people management and vendor management skills.

- Exceptional stakeholder engagement ability aligned with Hanley Energys Customer Obsession principles.

- High attention to detail, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, compliant, and high quality services.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams.

- Strong technical aptitude and ability to resolve facilities related issues promptly.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is desirable.

- Commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets effectively.

- Willingness to travel periodically to Boardman, Oregon and Dublin, Ohio as operational needs require.
