This individual will be working within the Mutual Funds and Daily Valuations team; the individual is responsible for the onboarding and set-up of new clients that trade Mutual Funds and CIT’s via automated platforms or direct with the funds. They will be responsible for understanding the various system that are utilized within the Company and external Fund companies to execute the
account set-ups. They will also work directly with clients, internal partners record-keepers and external funds in processing complex transactions and executing various operational functions. The team also serves as a first point of contact for client facing partners and Relationship Managers covering all business segments at Northern Trust.
The role will focus on asset movement and account set-up, NSCC and Settlement agreement, client restructures, exchange funds, and stock movement; or new account client onboarding and maintenance; as well as piloting and testing new products and systems. The focus of this role can change based on the needs of the operations team and it is likely to include the need to participate in projects and train other team members
The successful candidate must have the knowledge to interpret policies/procedures, an ability to work under pressure completing time-critical tasks, be comfortable working on their own and as part of a team and possess an eye for detail. The candidate will need to demonstrate sound judgment, know when to escalate exceptions and issues to Management, possess strong analytical and communication skills, and the approach of getting all tasks right first time.
Knowledge/skills:
• Processing and approving the following transactions; domestic and international wires; retirement distributions, conversions, free deliveries, DWACs, and DRS.
• Completion of Incoming account transfer asset reviews.
• Initiate and monitor account transfers.
• Establishing new accounts and updating accounts as per clients' instructions.
• Support front office institutional and retail registered representatives by navigating them through systems and procedures.
• Timely and accurate execution of workflow/control related activities.
• Coach and develop junior level partners as subject matter expert
* Take initiative to identify and implement process improvement opportunities to increase processing effectiveness and efficiencies.
• Other ancillary duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience
• 1-3 years of Industry experience
Experience working Knowledge of 401K, Retirement planning, Mutual Funds,
NSCC, Fund of Funds and Exchange Funds.
Salary Range:
$47,500 - 71,300 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
