Lead, IAM Platform Operations
Position Summary
The Lead, IAM Platform Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operation, support, and continuous improvement of Northern Trust's Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms. This role ensures IAM services are secure, stable, compliant, and operationally effective while partnering with IAM Engineering, Product Management, Risk, and Technology teams to deliver reliable identity services across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational support and administration of IAM platforms and services.
- Manage platform health, availability, resiliency, maintenance, upgrades, and operational readiness.
- Monitor service performance, operational metrics, and SLA attainment, driving remediation where necessary.
- Coordinate incident, problem, and change management activities for IAM platforms.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering and Product teams to transition new capabilities into production support.
- Support regulatory examinations, audits, control reviews, and evidence collection activities.
- Maintain operational procedures, support documentation, and service runbooks.
- Manage vendor support relationships and coordinate issue resolution with technology partners.
- Mentor junior team members and promote operational excellence across the IAM organization.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in IAM, Cyber Security, Technology Operations, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting enterprise IAM technologies and security platforms.
- Working knowledge of Identity Governance, Privileged Access Management, Authentication, Authorization, and Identity Lifecycle Management.
- Experience with incident management, service operations, platform support, and operational monitoring.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience operating within regulated and risk-focused environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CyberArk, Saviynt, Entra ID, Okta, Ping, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of ITIL, NIST, COBIT, and cybersecurity control frameworks.
- Financial services or highly regulated industry experience.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, CyberArk, Saviynt, or Microsoft Security certifications.
