Position Summary:
The Project Engineer Intern will implement engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Develop project scopes, budget estimates, equipment specifications, and documentation. Assist Project Engineers with ongoing capital projects. Supervise jobs in the field to ensure safe, efficient, and quality work.
Project Planning & Execution
- Help develop scopes of work, cost estimates, bid packages, and schedules.
- Support small capital projects from feasibility studies through field implementation.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors, and attend meetings, site visits, and progress reviews.
Engineering & Technical Support
- Collect field data and measurements to support design and construction.
- Perform engineering calculations, including pressure drop, pipe and pump sizing, and heat and material balances.
- Help prepare MOC documents, construction packages, and as-built drawings.
Project Controls & Documentation
- Track costs, schedules, milestones, risks, and issues.
- Prepare meeting minutes, action-item logs, presentations, and monthly reports.
Safety & Collaboration
- Participate in PHAs, PSSRs, MOC reviews, and other safety activities.
- Work with Engineering, Process Safety, Production, and Maintenance to resolve project issues.
Qualifications :
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Completed at least two years of college education before beginning internship
- Strong academic performance minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and extracurricular achievement
- Demonstrated communication and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate and gather input from various sources
- Ability to plan and organize the work and document progress clearly and concisely
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity
- Must have legal U.S. working authorization to participate in the program
- Must successfully pass pre-employment screening process
- Must be at least 18 years of age
