Position Overview:
Our internship program is designed for students enrolled in an accredited university or college who are interested in developing on-the-job skills, experiences and insights that last a lifetime. Over the course of 10 weeks, you will have opportunities to learn about several areas of our business, network and collaborate with Ball leaders, and get involved in challenging project work.
The North & Central America (NCA) Growth Strategy Intern will gain knowledge in multiple areas of the enterprise strategy team while working on various projects throughout the summer.
What You’ll Do:
- Own a summer-long project directly tied to how Ball grows profitably across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
- Support the annual refinement of our 5-year strategic plan, development of key commercial strategies, and investment cases.
- Build scenario models in Excel to inform key near and long-term commercial decisions.
- Conduct competitive and market intelligence — track competitor capacity and utilization, synthesize third-party and syndicated data (e.g., Circana), and translate findings into clear implications.
- Create executive-ready deliverables — build crisp, Ball-branded PowerPoint materials that turn analysis into decisions for a CEO/VP audience.
- Apply structured strategy frameworks (e.g., where-to-play / how-to-win logic) to real business questions.
- Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to gather inputs, pressure-test assumptions, and build consensus around major business decisions.
- Attend professional development activities, including a professional development week at our corporate headquarters in Colorado.
What We Are Seeking:
- Current students pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, Engineering, Social Science or other analytics-focused disciplines at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- And has completed at least one year of coursework with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- 0-1 years of experience in data analytics with strong Excel modeling skills and comfortable building clean, logical, assumption-transparent analyses.
- PowerPoint storytelling ability — turning data into a clear, concise narrative.
- Sharp analytical and critical-thinking skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfort presenting to senior audiences.
- Bonus: experience solving problems and driving efficiencies creatively with AI.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $24 - $26 (hourly rate is dependent on education level)
- May be eligible for additional housing benefits
- Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more work days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
