Milwaukee Tool is seeking an EMC Technician 1 to join the Red Ink EMC Lab. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone interested in hands-on EMC laboratory testing. As an EMC Technician 1, you will support developmental and pre-compliance electromagnetic compatibility testing of Milwaukee Tool’s expansive products. The successful candidate will learn to operate specialized test equipment, set up and troubleshoot test configurations, collect test data, engage with test requestor stakeholders, and help maintain an organized and safe laboratory environment.

Shift Hours:

Working a split shift from 1:00-9:30pm

You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

- Set up equipment, cables, antennas, probes, and test fixtures according to established lab procedures and schedule.

- Perform pre-compliance EMC testing in accordance with applicable international standards and internal test requirements.

- Operate electronic test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, amplifiers, receivers, oscilloscopes, and other laboratory instrumentation.

- Monitor tests and accurately document test results and observations through standardized test reports.

- Assist with troubleshooting test setups and resolving basic equipment or test configuration issues.

- Effectively communicate test status, issues, and significant findings to laboratory engineering staff.

- Develop familiarity with applicable EMC standards, test methods, and laboratory practices.

- Support laboratory preventative maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.

- Ensure lab safety procedures are always adhered to by all personnel in the Red Ink EMC lab.

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology or related technical field. In lieu of a degree, a High School diploma accompanied by 2+ years of experience in an electrical test lab environment.

- Ability to work independently while also taking directions from engineers and experienced technicians.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow written procedures.

- Experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and consistently deliver to a deadline.

- Ability to read and understand basic electrical schematics and technical documentation.

- Computer skills needed to navigate MS Office products, especially Excel.

- Capability to lift and manipulate 50lbs.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

- Two or more years of experience working in an EMC, electrical, or electronics laboratory.

- Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, antennas, power amplifiers, or near-field probes.

- Experience assembling or troubleshooting electrical/electronic systems.
