The EMC Senior Technician will join the Red Ink EMC Lab supporting developmental and pre-compliance electromagnetic compatibility testing of Milwaukee Tool’s expansive products.  As a Senior EMC Technician, you will support developmental and pre-compliance electromagnetic compatibility testing, operate specialized test equipment, set up and troubleshoot test configurations, collect test data, mentor junior technicians, engage with test requestor stakeholders, and help maintain an organized and safe laboratory environment.

Shift Hours:

Working a split shift from 1:00-9:30pm

You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

- Ensure all testing is accurately setup and executed according to established lab procedures and schedule.

- Perform pre-compliance EMC testing in accordance with applicable international standards and internal test requirements.

- Operate electronic test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, amplifiers, receivers, oscilloscopes, and other laboratory instrumentation.

- Monitor tests and accurately document test results and observations through standardized test reports.

- Recognize and resolve common test setup and measurement issues to ensure robust data collection.

- Effectively communicate test status, issues, and significant findings to laboratory engineering staff.

- Build understanding of complex interactions between test equipment hardware and software to support engineering test execution.

- Support laboratory preventative maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.

- Assist in the debugging of Milwaukee Tool product with regards to EMC/EMI testing.

- Ensure lab safety procedures are always adhered to by all personnel in the Red Ink EMC lab.

- Monitor laboratory activities and ensure equipment and test areas are properly maintained.

- Effectively manage multiple complex tasks to achieve desired outcomes and deliver to deadlines.

- Mentor junior technicians regarding measurement equipment, processes, documentation, and troubleshooting.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology or related technical field. In lieu of an associate’s degree, a High School diploma accompanied by 4+ years of experience.

- 5+ years of overall experience with electrical principles, test equipment, product life/performance test procedures and methods, with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in an EMC test laboratory environment.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately follow written procedures.

- Proficiency with EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, RF amplifiers, vector network analyzers, RF field probes, antennas, artificial networks, bulk current injection probes, oscilloscopes, and near-field probes.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, exercising independent judgement, and working well under pressure in a dynamic environment.

- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and consistently deliver to a deadline.
