About this role

The Accountant maintains accurate financial records and reporting, ensuring thorough bookkeeping and reconciliation of bank accounts on a monthly basis. This role supports the Senior Accountant and Client Service Managers by performing essential financial functions, including transaction processing and month-end close procedures. Additionally, the Accountant focuses on delivering timely and precise financial statements to clients, while also playing a vital role in payroll and general accounting tasks to ensure compliance.

Success Factors

Responsibilities

- Execute comprehensive month-end accounting tasks, including revenue, inventory adjustments, and depreciation, ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Code bank and credit card activity while maintaining open communication with clients for inquiries
- Analyze financial statements and make necessary adjustments for financial presentations during month-end close meetings
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and maintaining vendor and customer relationships
- Conduct efficient bill payments and maintain records using Bill and similar systems
- Oversee payroll processing, from recording entries and accruals to ensuring tax compliance and timely filings
- Work with various client systems to ensure seamless integration with the accounting software

- Adhere to strict processing and reporting deadlines to maintain consistent financial reporting cadence
- Participate in and contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems and processes
- Support special projects and perform additional assignments to meet organizational and client needs

Education, Experience and Certifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in similar role

Essential Functions

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position as needed
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office and at client offices to access file cabinets, office machinery etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner and exchange information with internal and external actors as needed
- Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel to local and non-local clients as needed, overnight travel may be required

Salary Range:
$55,000 - $65,000
