About this role

The Family Coaching and Visitation (FCV) program supports families involved with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) who are working toward reunification with their children. The program provides supervised parent-child visitation along with hands-on coaching and support to help parents strengthen their parenting skills, build positive relationships with their children, and make progress toward the goals identified in their service plans. Through individualized coaching during their visits, case management, in-home after care services, and collaboration with DCYF and other members of the family's support team, FCV works to help families develop the skills, confidence, and supports needed for a successful reunification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : W orks as part of a trauma-informed and multi-disciplinary team to provide supervised visitation, parent coaching, case management, transportation, staff supervision, and program support to assist families with working towards reunification with their children. Works to ensure Medicaid and contract compliance as well as implementation of treatment plan goals. Supervises case managers reviewing documentation, onboarding staff, and providing training. Develops trainings along with the program director to ensure staffs professional development.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Provide case management and supervised visitation services to families enrolled in the Family Visitation and Coaching program

- As part of a team, oversee completion of initial assessments, including FCV Case Manager Assessment, FAST, and treatment plans for all assigned children and families within 30 days.

- Ensures timely completion of all performance evaluations for case managers.

- Provides direct supervision, support, and guidance to program case managers as assigned to ensure quality of program services and to provide overall professional development support.

- Provide administrative and reflective supervision to assigned supervisees.

- Provide developmentally appropriate feedback and coaching to parents in a positive manner, helping them build the skills and system navigation knowledge they need to self-advocate and meet service plan goals.

- Ensure weekly contact with DCYF staff for all assigned families.

- Ensure supervisees meet all program requirements.

- Work with program director to ensure contract and Medicaid compliance and program coverage.

- Respond to case manager needs on the visitation floor and by phone. Ensure that visit protocols are being followed according to program policy and procedure and maintain ongoing communication with program director regarding any concerns relating to visit safety.

- Review documentation of staff including; court letters, treatment plans, case manager assessments, and visit notes.

- Provide training and onboarding support to new case managers.

- Carry visitation caseload, as assigned.

- Complete all necessary documentation.

- Transport clients as needed.

- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

- Requires Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a human service agency and at least 5 years of comparable experience; to include: working with children and families.

- Knowledge of child welfare system required

- Outstanding communication skills: written, verbal and presentation skills a must .

- Previous supervisory experience. Ability to supervise, motivate, coach, discipline and train staff.

- Excellent computer skills, to include: proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Ability to travel to various locations; possession of a valid drivers license, reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : This position requires residential and community visits, employees in this position must have the ability to:

- Travel to and from clients' residence, community locations and office site, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators.

- Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
