Job Purpose

The Senior Regional Insurance Manager, Creditor Distribution contributes to the overall success of Creditor Insurance distribution within an assigned region. This role is responsible for supporting the onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development of Home Finance Advisors, Customer Solutions Advisors, Scotia Mortgage Authority representatives, and related sales teams that offer Scotiabank retail lending products.

Working closely with regional leadership, this role develops strategies that drive creditor insurance penetration, enhance advisor knowledge, and strengthen customer outcomes while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.

Key Accountabilities

###

Business Development & Relationship Management

- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Directors, Sales Managers, Brokerage Firms, and other regional leaders to support creditor insurance growth initiatives.

- Influence and engage leadership teams across HFS and SMA channels to drive awareness, adoption, and sales effectiveness.

- Identify business opportunities through market analysis, performance results, industry trends, and regional insights.

- Support the achievement of regional creditor insurance penetration, revenue, and profitability objectives.

Coaching, Training & Advisor Development

- Deliver ongoing coaching, training, and support to advisors and sales teams to increase understanding of creditor insurance products, including product features, customer suitability, conditions, limitations, and exclusions.

- Reinforce sales practices, compliance requirements, and best practices through regular training and development activities.

- Partner with onboarding teams to ensure new advisors develop the knowledge and confidence required to successfully position creditor insurance solutions.

- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted resource for sales leadership and advisor teams.

Presentation & Regional Engagement

- Deliver engaging presentations at regional, district, team, and individual meetings across assigned territories.

- Participate in client education events, appreciation nights, regional conferences, and business development activities.

- Promote awareness and understanding of creditor insurance solutions while supporting a customer-focused sales culture.

Risk Management & Compliance

- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and sales practice standards.

- Understand and apply the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture when making decisions and conducting business activities.

- Support compliance with operational, conduct, AML/ATF, sanctions, and regulatory obligations.

- Demonstrate Scotiabank's Values, Global Sales Principles, and Code of Conduct in all interactions.

Team Collaboration

- Collaborate closely with Senior Regional Insurance Managers and Insurance Canada leadership to achieve regional and national business objectives.

Education & Experience

###

Required

- 7+ years of progressive sales experience within the financial services industry.

- Bilingualism (English and French), with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages

- Strong sales management, relationship management, and business development experience.

- Demonstrated success coaching and developing sales professionals.

- Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.

- Strong ability to influence stakeholders and build effective partnerships at all levels.

- Thorough understanding of insurance products, financial planning concepts, and customer needs analysis.

- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify growth opportunities.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred

- Professional designations such as PFP, CFP, or AMP.

- In-depth knowledge of retail banking sales and distribution channels, including direct and indirect lending.

- Knowledge of Home Financing Solutions (HFS), Scotia Mortgage Authority (SMA), Customer Solutions Canada (CSC), and Direct Business Onboarding operations.
