Job Title: Instructional Designer Job Description
The Instructional Designer will design and develop engaging, process-based training courses based on a role-based training curriculum. Utilizing the ADDIE principles of instructional design, the role involves analyzing, designing, developing, and delivering courses for a multi-product implementation, including but not limited to Bullhorn, PeopleSoft, Salesforce Lightning, and Oracle Fusion.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Implementation Training Lead and Professional Development Leads to ensure training programs support business drivers, objectives, and align with the organization's purpose, values, and goals.
- Work cross-collaboratively within Professional Development Teams, product and process SMEs, and business partners to build relationships, perform needs analysis, identify process gaps, define appropriate training solutions, and coordinate content reviews as needed.
- Evaluate process workflows and existing training materials to incorporate appropriate content into new training materials and conduct additional research to fill content gaps.
- Identify suitable learning solutions such as webinars, interactive modules, videos, online courses, reference guides, job aids, learning paths, and plans to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Utilize instructional design principles to create an immersive and memorable learning experience that engages learners and enables them to execute new software and business processes.
- Structure and organize content to be easily processed and engaging for the learner through writing, storytelling, scenarios, layout, imagery, feedback, self-discovery, and applicable activities.
- Stage the training database effectively to reinforce the designed training programs and execute the staging as required.
- Express ideas and thoughts verbally and visually in a manner that matches the audience and delivery method, ensuring deliverables are clear, concise, and grammatically correct.
- Recommend and create content for in-app guidance solutions such as WalkMe.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and peers on effective and innovative learning strategies to achieve business goals.
- Organize, prioritize, coordinate, and implement multiple projects within established timelines.
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects, regularly communicating with the Program Manager and stakeholders to define and review deliverables, provide updates on project status, manage changes in scope, and escalate challenges.
- Produce high-quality deliverables and training materials in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Create assessment methods that foster learner development by providing opportunities to demonstrate mastery of learning goals.
- Receive, accept, and provide constructive feedback.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5+ years in Instructional Design, Training and Development, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Experience in Articulate Story Line & Rise and Fusion.
- Experience creating training that incorporates processes, systems, and hands-on exercises.
- Experience working in a fast-paced team environment.
- Experience designing technical or system training for enterprise-wide technology implementations.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Movavi or similar video recording tool, and screen grab techniques and software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred BA Degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or related discipline, but not required.
- Experience creating content in an in-app guidance tool such as WalkMe is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Degreed or other LMS software preferred but not required.
- Experience working in an Agile Development framework is preferred but not required.
- Experience using Salesforce Lightning is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This position is fully remote and requires the candidate to be located in the EST or CST time zones.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Hanover, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
