Overview

The Lenovo Storage team is expanding to support the next phase of business growth and solution development. This new role adds dedicated technical leadership to shape portfolio direction, engage technology partners, and integrate storage into broader ISG solutions.

The Consultant Storage Architect, Solutions & Ecosystem Strategy will define future storage architectures, influence roadmap direction, and connect storage with AI and hybrid infrastructure opportunities. Working across product management, engineering, solutions, and partner teams, this leader will turn emerging technologies and market opportunities into differentiated, repeatable Lenovo solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Portfolio Strategy

- Define the future architecture and technical direction for Lenovo’s storage portfolio, translating market, customer, and technology trends into actionable priorities.
- Establish architecture principles, reference designs, and platform requirements that guide portfolio planning and investment decisions.
- Assess competitive threats, capability gaps, and emerging opportunities, and provide clear recommendations to product and executive leadership.
- Influence storage and partner roadmaps to improve differentiation, integration, and customer value.

Solutions, AI & Ecosystem Leadership

- Define how storage integrates into Lenovo AI, hybrid infrastructure, ThinkAgile, server, software, and services solutions.
- Partner with solution teams to create repeatable architectures and blueprints for priority customer workloads.
- Serve as a senior technical interface to OEM and technology partners, shaping joint roadmaps, qualifications, and solution priorities.
- Evaluate new technologies and partnerships based on strategic fit, technical value, and business potential.

Technical Influence & Capability Building

- Act as a recognized technical authority with customers, sellers, executives, and industry stakeholders, translating complex architecture decisions into business outcomes.
- Build storage architecture capability across ISG through technical guidance, mentoring, reusable frameworks, and design best practices.
- Lead through influence across product management, engineering, solutions, services, and partner organizations.
- Represent Lenovo’s storage strategy in executive briefings, customer engagements, and relevant industry forums.

Basic Qualifications:

- 10+ years of experience in enterprise storage, infrastructure architecture, solution architecture, product strategy, or a related technical discipline.
- Deep expertise in enterprise storage architecture, with broad working knowledge across SAN, NAS, object, software-defined storage, hyperconverged infrastructure, and hybrid cloud.
- Demonstrated experience defining end-to-end infrastructure architectures, reference designs, technical roadmaps, or solution blueprints across multiple technology domains.
- Strong knowledge of storage protocols, data management software, infrastructure management, automation, orchestration, and observability technologies.
- Proven ability to shape strategy and decisions across product, engineering, solutions, and partner organizations without relying on direct authority.
- Executive-level communication skills and the ability to translate customer and technical requirements into business recommendations.
- Experience mentoring technical professionals and building organizational capability.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with OEM business models and strategic technology partnerships.
- Experience with AI infrastructure, Kubernetes, VMware, Nutanix, Red Hat OpenShift, AIOps, or infrastructure automation.
- Experience presenting to executive, customer, partner, and industry audiences.
- Relevant technical leadership credentials, industry recognition, intellectual property, standards participation, or equivalent evidence of sustained technical impact.
