About this role

Job Title: Accountant Job Description The Staff Accountant supports the full accounting cycle with a strong focus on accounts receivable, cash applications, and month-end close activities. This role manages daily invoicing, cash posting, and reporting, while collaborating closely with customer service, sales, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. The position also assists with commissions and royalties, external audits, and inventory-related accounting, contributing to a high-growth, fast-paced organization. Responsibilities

- Post daily accounts receivable invoices and distribute them to customers via email in an accurate and timely manner.
- Process daily remote bank deposits and record accounts receivable cash receipts to ensure up-to-date and accurate cash application.
- Prepare and distribute daily cash and collections reports to support financial visibility and decision-making.
- Respond promptly to customer invoice inquiries, research and resolve invoice discrepancies, and work closely with the Customer Service Department to address billing issues.
- Support collection efforts by following up with customers on past-due balances and helping to reduce outstanding receivables.
- Assist with the monthly processing of commission and royalty calculations and related accounting entries.
- Communicate and distribute account statements to customers and respond to emails and inquiries from the sales team regarding account and invoice status.
- Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing and recording journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate accounting of events and transactions across the business.
- Assist with annual external audit requests by preparing support schedules, documentation, and reconciliations as needed.
- Assist with year-end physical inventory counts and related accounting adjustments.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned to support the overall function and effectiveness of the accounting and finance team.

Essential Skills

- 35 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Hands-on experience with accounts receivable, including invoice posting, cash application, and collections support.
- Experience with general ledger accounting and participation in the month-end close process.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
- High level of organization with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and private information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
- Bachelors degree in business or accounting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with SAP Business One or another leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is a plus.
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as customer service, sales, and production.
- Experience supporting external audits through preparation of schedules and documentation.
- Familiarity with commission and royalty calculations and related accounting is beneficial.
- Experience assisting with physical inventory counts and related reconciliations is an advantage.

Work Environment The role is based in Irving within a manufacturing facility that houses a small engineering group and a predominantly production-focused staff. The accounting and finance function includes a local team of approximately eight professionals and a broader team of six colleagues based in India, creating a collaborative, cross-location environment. The organization is experiencing strong, organic growth year over year, contributing to a dynamic, fast-paced workplace where processes and responsibilities continue to evolve. You will work with modern ERP systems, spreadsheet tools such as Excel, and standard office technology in a professional office setting within the manufacturing facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
