Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer & Office Lead Job Description
As a Senior Structural Engineer & Office Leader, you will play a key role in delivering complex structural solutions for semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, and mission-critical facilities while serving as a leader within the local engineering organization. This position combines technical excellence, team leadership, business development, and client engagement to drive successful project outcomes and support continued organizational growth. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, leading the design and delivery of large-scale industrial projects while mentoring engineers, developing client relationships, and helping shape the future of the structural engineering practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering design and planning efforts for complex industrial, semiconductor, and advanced technology projects from concept through construction.
- Provide technical direction and oversight to structural engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of coordinated, high-quality construction documents.
- Design and analyze structural systems including steel frames, concrete structures, foundations, trusses, and other critical load-bearing components.
- Perform and oversee advanced structural analyses including static and dynamic analysis, seismic design, and connection design.
- Coordinate closely with architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, and construction teams for integrated project delivery.
- Support construction activities through submittal reviews, RFIs, field observations, and construction administration services.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, helping strengthen technical capabilities and professional growth.
- Maintain expertise in evolving industry codes, standards, technologies, and engineering best practices.
- Develop and improve structural design standards, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader who fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing office culture.
- Lead employee development efforts including mentoring, career planning, and support for professional licensure.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with semiconductor and mission-critical facility clients.
- Participate in business development efforts including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited program.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to obtain reciprocity in additional states.
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or mission-critical facilities.
- Experience leading structural engineering projects through concept development, detailed design, and construction support.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and mentoring staff.
- Strong understanding of structural systems, seismic design, vibration analysis, and applicable building codes and standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Direct experience supporting semiconductor fabrication facilities.
- Expertise in floor vibration analysis, finite element modeling, and dynamic structural analysis.
- Experience with performance-based seismic design and advanced seismic protection systems.
- Familiarity with complex utility routing and structural coordination requirements in cleanroom environments.
- NCEES Record and ability to obtain licensure in multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience working within integrated design-build or fast-track project delivery environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
