Event Security Officer

Job Summary

Hammer Head Security is seeking professional and dependable Unarmed Event Security Officers to support security operations at events and venues. Officers will help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests, employees, vendors, and event personnel.

This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, attentive, professional, and comfortable working in busy event settings. Duties may vary depending on the event, venue, and client requirements.

Essential Duties

- Maintain a professional security presence throughout assigned areas
- Monitor entrances, exits, event areas, parking areas, and designated locations
- Check tickets, credentials, passes, or other access materials when assigned
- Assist with orderly guest movement and access control
- Observe event areas and report safety or security concerns
- Respond appropriately to incidents, disturbances, and other situations
- Communicate security concerns and incidents to supervisors or Dispatch
- Assist guests with directions and general questions when appropriate
- Identify and report safety hazards, blocked exits, spills, and other unsafe conditions
- Conduct foot patrols or other assigned security checks
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, and other required documentation
- Use radios and other communication equipment as directed
- Follow site instructions, post orders, company policies, and client procedures
- Work cooperatively with event staff, venue personnel, supervisors, and other security officers
- Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures when directed
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct throughout the assignment
- Remain attentive and engaged while performing assigned duties

Qualifications

- Previous security, event, customer service, military, or related experience is a plus
- Security experience is helpful but not required
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Professional and customer-service-oriented approach
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable working in busy public settings
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic ability to use a smartphone and two-way radio
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Weekend and evening availability
- Must be able to meet applicable California security registration and licensing requirements

- Part-time

- Schedules vary depending on event dates and staffing needs

Pay

$17.00 per hour
