About the Role

Hammer Head Security is hiring Flex Security Officers to support security operations at client properties throughout the Bay Area.

Flex Officers provide coverage when regular personnel are unavailable and may be assigned to different properties depending on business needs. Assignments can include logistics and warehouse facilities, residential communities, commercial properties, corporate locations, and other client sites.

Because assignments may change, this role is ideal for someone who is dependable, adaptable, and comfortable learning the procedures of different security posts.

Before working at a new location, officers will receive the applicable site instructions and training.

What You’ll Do

Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include:

- Report to assigned locations and provide reliable security coverage.
- Protect client property, personnel, visitors, and facilities.
- Conduct scheduled walking or vehicle patrols.
- Monitor entrances, exits, gates, parking areas, and designated property areas.
- Verify access for employees, contractors, vendors, visitors, and deliveries.
- Observe CCTV, alarms, access-control systems, or other security equipment when applicable.
- Identify unusual activity, safety concerns, security issues, and potential policy violations.
- Document activities, observations, incidents, and other required information.
- Maintain communication with Dispatch, supervisors, and designated client contacts.
- Follow post orders, site procedures, emergency instructions, and company policies.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused presence while on duty.
- Complete other duties associated with the assigned security post.

What We’re Looking For

Candidates should have:

- A current California Guard Card - required
- A valid California Driver’s License - required
- Must reside in the Bay Area and be able to reliably travel to assigned Bay Area locations.
- A driving record that satisfies company insurance requirements.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to report to different Bay Area locations.
- The ability to work independently and remain productive without constant supervision.
- Good judgment, communication, and situational awareness.
- Basic ability to use smartphones, computers, and electronic reporting systems.
- Professional appearance and workplace conduct.
- Prior experience in security, patrol, access control, logistics, warehouse operations, or CCTV is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Expectations

Security assignments may require officers to:

- Remain standing or walking for extended portions of a shift.
- Complete scheduled foot or vehicle patrols.
- Work both inside facilities and outdoors.
- Work in changing weather conditions.
- Walk across large commercial, industrial, residential, or warehouse properties.
- Use stairs and access different areas of a property.
- Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Maintain alertness and attention to surroundings throughout the assignment.

Scheduling & Assignments

Flex Officers support coverage needs across multiple client accounts.

- Full-time opportunities are available.
- Full-time schedules are generally around 40 hours per week, depending on operational requirements.
- Available shifts may include day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday assignments .
- The assigned property and schedule may change based on coverage needs.
- Officers must be willing to travel to different designated Bay Area locations.
- Some assignments operate around the clock, including weekends and holidays.

Flex Officers should be comfortable receiving assignments at different properties rather than reporting to the same location for every shift.
