Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our facility in Chandler, AZ. In this role, you will work from engineering design documents, CAD models, specifications, and purchase order requirements to prepare and determine equipment, tooling, materials, methods of manufacture, and facilities required to produce a particular product at the lowest cost consistent with quality specifications.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development projects associated with the design and development of new products and services.
- Contribute to and follow the project plan on new product development orders.
- Prepare shop operation sketches, instruction sheets, BOMs, and tool orders while maintaining production costs.
- Review customer documentation and specifications to ensure manufacturing plans reflect requirements.
- Design and create complete drawings of tooling needed to fabricate parts using CAD software.
- Construct plans and work orders to get tooling fabricated either in-house or outsourced.
- Serve as an engineering liaison with customers, possessing specific knowledge of all customer quality requirements and specifications.
- Resolve implementation and process problems and respond quickly to manufacturing-related liaison requests.
- Provide technical assistance to shop inspection, perform MRB dispositions, and conduct investigative assistance to solve quality and process problems.
- Maintain close working relationships with all departments and individuals involved in assigned projects and coordinate with customer representatives as necessary.
- Monitor cell metrics for gross margin, scrap, re-work, 5S, and continuous improvement of lean manufacturing cells, identifying improvement opportunities and developing plans to address them.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
- Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Essential Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Project.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- An Engineering Degree (BS; Bachelor of Science) is required; or seven years of related experience.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication methods such as Hydroforming, heat treat, braze, laser cutting, brake forming, welding (TIG and Resistance), and NDT processes.
- Proficient in sheet-metal manufacturing methods utilizing metals such as Aluminum, Nickel alloys, Stainless Steels, and Titanium.
- Proficient experience with CAD modeling and designing appropriate tools and fixturing for fabrication of parts.
- Understanding of lean tools such as Six Sigma and VSM.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to immediate supervisors or upper management.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 3 years of multi-axis programming with a CAM program like MasterCAM.
- 7 years of experience with sheet metal fabrication methods and CAD modeling.
- Experience designing tools and fixturing for fabrication using CAD software such as SolidWorks or NX.
- Command of GD&T through everyday use in recent work experience.
- Understanding project planning well enough to move on to the next steps without direction.
Work Environment
The work environment is within an aerospace sheet metal forming contract manufacturing setting regulated by AS9100 standards. The facility utilizes advanced technologies and equipment, focusing on lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement. Collaboration with various departments and customer representatives is essential, promoting a dynamic and cohesive work atmosphere.

This is a Permanent position based out of Chandler, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. medical
