About this role

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for daily activities of the purchasing function at NEMS. They are responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors or suppliers and upkeep trends and prices to identify forecasting demands to minimize purchasing cost.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Able to perform job duties of Purchasing Agent II.

- Review purchase orders for accuracy and to make the best prices are obtained

- Approve purchase and track their progress to make sure orders are filled correctly

- Evaluate, select, and establish relationships with vendors

- Negotiate contracts for good and services

- Oversee the ordering of materials, supplies and equipment from vendors by buyers

- Analyze and implement purchasing process and delivery systems

- Manage and direct employees involved in purchasing

- Monitors day-to-day activities in addition to assigning work to employees

- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

- Supervise all audit activities and evaluate purchase orders and payments

- Manage and support project implementations

- Manage supplier contracts

- Maintains all reports for inventory

- Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Completion of a four year degree from an accredited university.

- 1+ years of supervisor experience or 4+ years of purchasing experience.

- Must be proficient in computers and ability to learn new applications.

- Excellent communication, organizational and budgeting skills.

- Demonstrated skills in problem identification, analysis and resolution.

- Detail oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timelines.

LANGUAGE:

- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently

- The ability to speak a second language is an asset

STATUS:

This is an FLSA exempt position.

This is not an OSHA high-risk position.
