About this role
We are seeking an experienced Surfacing Foreman to lead our surfacing crews across a variety of civil infrastructure projects throughout Canterbury. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating crews, plant, materials, safety and quality to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and coordinate daily surfacing activities, allocating labour, plant and materials to meet programme requirements, project deadlines and productivity targets.
- Instruct, lead, upskill and direct members of the Surfacing Team to ensure quality work is achieved to the correct specification.
- Monitor project progress and communicate programme updates to management.
- Co-ordinate with the Traffic Management division to ensure the safety of staff, public and equipment.
- Carry out instructions as delivered by the Asphalt Operations Supervisor and Paving Department Manager or any other Senior management.
- Maintain records and complete all required paperwork accurately and on time as required of a Foreman.
- Train and mentor staff within your crew in all aspects of asphalt works on site.
- Manage the workload, motivation, training, health & safety, and performance of staff on site in conjunction with the Asphalt Operations Supervisor and Paving Department Manager.
- Assist with any field testing required.
- Ensure daily pre-start meetings are conducted and recorded in Easy Forms prior to the commencement of work.
- Any other duties may be required from time to time in which adequate training and instruction has been received, to fulfil the day-to-day business activities of the Isaac Group of Companies.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- 10 yrs + Experience working within a Surfacing/Paving role essential.
- 3 yrs + Experience working as a Surfacing/Paving Foreman role essential.
- Strong leadership and people management skills essential.
- Experience coordinating crews, plant and subcontractors essential.
- Sound understanding of Health & Safety requirements definite advantage.
- New Zealand Class 4 Licence essential.
