Introduction
We are looking for a Project Engineer, Capital & Aftermarket Pumps, APA to join our Capital & Aftermarket Pumps team in the Services business area. In this role, you will provide project engineering, technical coordination, and execution support for capital and aftermarket pump projects across the APA region, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and ready for lifecycle support.You will report to Senior Manager Projects, Capital and Aftermarket Pumps, and the role location is West Perth, with a hybrid working model available. Regional travel is required.
Team you will belong to
You will join the Capital & Aftermarket Pumps team supporting pump projects, upgrades, rebuilds, and retrofit scopes across the APA region. The team works across project delivery, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, service, and customer interfaces to ensure technically sound and commercially controlled project execution.The team collaborates closely with Project Managers, product lines, market area sales and service teams, engineering, procurement, quality, finance, suppliers, and customers. Team members support projects throughout the project lifecycle, from scope definition and documentation through delivery readiness and aftermarket handover.
What you'll do
- Provide project execution and technical support for capital and aftermarket pump projects, upgrades, rebuilds, and retrofit scopes across the APA region.
- Translate customer, contract, and application requirements into technical deliverables, including pump selections, materials, configurations, drawings, bills of materials, spare parts, and project documentation.
- Coordinate engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, service, and supplier inputs to maintain delivery flow and resolve technical or execution challenges.
- Prepare, review, and control project documentation, schedules, technical queries, inspection notifications, shippable bills of materials, packing lists, material documentation records, and final handover packages.
- Support slurry pump application reviews covering operating conditions, wear strategies, hydraulics, sealing systems, drive arrangements, liner selections, maintainability, and site installation considerations.
- Manage assigned portions of customer contracts, including technical compliance, scope interpretation, change impacts, risks, claims support, variations, and customer communication.
- Monitor manufacturing and supplier progress, support inspections and dispatch readiness, and follow up on critical technical and delivery items.
- Lead technical follow-up on non-conformances, repairs, warranty learnings, and corrective actions while contributing to continuous improvement and successful capital-to-aftermarket handovers.
What you'll bring
- Degree qualification in mechanical, process, chemical, mining, materials, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience in minerals processing technical environments.
- Demonstrated experience in project engineering within slurry handling, mineral processing, aftermarket services, project delivery, service, or original equipment manufacturer environments.
- Practical understanding of heavy-duty slurry pumps, mill discharge systems, hydrocyclones, abrasive duties, wear and sealing applications, materials, liners, drive arrangements, and maintainability.
- Ability to manage project documentation, contract-scope control, technical queries, non-conformance reports, vendor follow-up activities, inspections, logistics coordination, and customer communications.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of project margins, costs, variations, risks, warranties, inventory, delivery performance, and lifecycle value.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, commercial, and customer-facing teams.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft 365 applications, reporting tools, and structured project reporting practices.
Nice to have
- Experience with MD, X, S Series, Orion, VASA, or equivalent slurry pump product ranges.
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Power BI, CAD drawing review tools, Lean methodologies, or Six Sigma practices.
- Site commissioning experience.
