GTP India - CAB, CVD, VAT Business is characterized by a dynamic environment in direct contact with our customers’ needs through Driving comfort, safety and efficiency features related to Trucks. We manage complete CAB scope (Interior, Exterior, Driving, Body and Visibility), Chasis and Vehicle dynamics, Vendor, Axles, Transmissions and Prop shaft and Much more…

With major new projects on-going and clear targets to Localize, optimize the cost, build strong resilience and reduce our CO2 emissions, the GTP India Purchasing team is in the forefront of the Volvo Group transformation towards safer and cleaner transport solutions. Partnerships, global strategies, and new business models’ approach are key enablers to succeed in our mission.

What is your Mission?

As a CAB Project and Commodity Buyer, you will lead the respective supplier base and implement the strategy in strong collaboration with the segment leader as well as the cross functional colleagues.

To do so you will:

- Drive and lead respective segment and supplier

- Build strong Localization road map and bring resiliency to Global supply chain

- Do and drive all relevant activities to deliver QDCFTSR (*) targets during Sourcing/Project phases

- Identify, mitigate and monitor risks

- Understand market specifics and business needs

- Drive commercial negotiations with suppliers

- Drive Cost reduction ideas generation (deep dive and portfolio analysis)

- Lead cross functional work with other functions to implement such ideas

- Actively contribute to the team’s development, by bringing improvement ideas, support your peers, sharing good cases and ask for support when needed

Who are you?

- University degree in BE / B.Tech. Preferably in Mechanical/Automobile or related

- Preferred knowledge with 5-10 years of experience as a buyer in the automotive industry

- Excellent decision-making skills, considering risks and opportunities, with an ownership mindset

- Continuous Improvement and Excellence mindset with good communication skills

- Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills

- Strong business acumen with very good knowledge in project management

- Good in Market Benchmarking , Business Intelligence Analysis , Scouting Suppliers

- Good understanding of different manufacturing processes and best practice costing.

- Excellent interpersonal, networking & stakeholder management skills - true connector working in different eco-systems

- Positive and collaborative mindset and strong energy to contribute to the success of the Volvo Group

- Proactiveness is an absolute must!

- Experience in handling CAB segments such as - Instance Instrument Panels, Lights, Mirrors, Steering wheels, Seating, Living feature, interior and exterior plastics components, Windshields, Paints, etc.,
